Credit Card Data Levels

PayPack supports Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 data

Level 1, 2, and 3 data are used in payment processing to provide different levels of information about a transaction:
  • Level 1: This is the most basic and common level of data, and includes the minimum information required to process a transaction. It includes the card number, expiration date, and transaction amount.
  • Level 2: This level includes all the information from Level 1, plus additional information such as the tax amount, customer code, and merchant's postal code. Level 2 data is often used for corporate, government, and business-to-business transactions.
  • Level 3: This level includes all the information from Level 1 and 2, plus even more details about the transaction. It includes line-item details such as product descriptions, quantities, prices, and more. Level 3 data is also often used for corporate, government, and business-to-business transactions, but typically for larger transactions.

To learn more about required L2/L3 rate eligibility, see Stripe Docs: Payment line items

PayPack ensures eligibility for L2/L3 transactions by transmitting all required fields to Stripe. However, the merchant is responsible for ensuring that the necessary line-item data is available for processing.
