Enable Global Exclusion Rules

When integrating Stripe Tax with NetSuite via PayPack, you may encounter scenarios where certain transactions should never trigger a tax calculation. Global Exclusion Rules allow you to define specific transaction types or conditions that bypass the Stripe Tax API, preventing unnecessary API calls and potential errors in non-taxable territories.

By default, the PayPack integration attempts to calculate tax for every supported transaction. However, you may want to exclude specific records to:

  • Maintain Performance: Reduce API latency by skipping calculations for entities that are always tax-exempt.

  • Ensure Accuracy: Prevent tax from being calculated on specific transaction types (e.g. internal estimates) that do not carry a tax liability.

To configure these rules, you must have Administrator privileges within NetSuite.

  1. Navigate to PayPack > Setup > Configuration.

  2. Click on the Tax subtab.

  3. Locate the section titled Exclusion Filters.

  4. Check the box Enable Exclusion Filters.

  5. Select the Exclude Specific Transaction Types.
