Payment Method Configuration

The Payment Method Configuration setting gives you greater control over how different payment options (such as credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or localized bank transfers) are globally handled during payment collection.

By default, PayPack uses your Stripe account’s default configuration. However, if you have tailored specific payment experiences for different regions, brands, or business units within Stripe, this setting allows you to point PayPack to a specific custom payment method configuration.

How it Works

When configuring this setting, you can choose between two paths:

  1. Default Configuration: PayPack will automatically use the standard payment method layout and rules set up globally in your Stripe Dashboard.

  2. Custom Configuration: You can input a specific Stripe Payment Method Configuration ID. PayPack will then look to that exact setup to determine which payment methods to display to your customers.

Requirements & Limitations

Before changing this setting, please keep the following rules in mind:

  • Must be Active: PayPack can only pull configurations that are currently marked as enabled in your Stripe Dashboard.

  • Stripe Connect Platform Configurations: This setting does not support payment method configurations created at the Stripe Connect platform level.

For a deeper dive into how Stripe handles these profiles and how to create them, please refer to the official Stripe Documentation on Payment Method Configurations.
